Roadshow by Telekom: touring across Greece

The Roadshow wanted a VR cinema that could travel with it across Greece, and a production team of its own that could run it at every stop.

What we curated

A program for audiences in sixteen cities and islands, many of them far from the usual cultural circuit, with every title subtitled in Greek.

What we installed

Six pods, each a swivel chair with back support and adjustable height, a VR headset and over-ear headphones, with spare headsets and headphones on hand. Every pod ran on Poetics Pods, our own software for managing the headsets remotely and running the sessions, and for the Roadshow we also built a custom software solution to fit how the tour worked.

How it ran

Before the tour, we trained the Roadshow’s production team in a full-day session and a final rehearsal: setting up the pods, running and troubleshooting the headsets, managing them and the sessions in Poetics Pods, welcoming visitors and the hygiene protocols.

For the first two stops our team ran the cinema together with theirs: setting it up and packing it down, configuring the headsets and the central control, the network and the visitor onboarding. From then on the Roadshow’s own team ran it, with our remote support until the last stop. Across the tour, the pods gave more than 1,500 screenings.
