What a Poetics cinema is.

LBVR stands for location-based VR: an immersive cinema that comes to your venue. Ours is a room of single-seat pods, a curated program of 10–50 minutes, and an operator present throughout. We install it in a day and it is gone the next morning.

A short film with no sound: visitors trying VR headsets, one after another, each lit in a different color.

What is immersive cinema?

Immersive cinema is authored storytelling you step inside. Not gaming, not a tech demo. Real films, experienced through VR.

What will I experience?
360° film
Filmed in every direction at once.
VR180
Filmed only in front of you, in 3D.
Volumetric, or 6DoF
Scenes you can lean into and look around.
Interactive
Where you look, or what you do with your hands, changes what happens next.
Immersive films have almost nowhere to be seen.

A film can win the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Immersive and still have no clear path to an audience beyond that festival week. The art form is maturing fast. The distribution infrastructure hasn’t kept up.

That’s the problem we are trying to solve. That’s why we started Poetics.

The station.

Pods ready for visitors: swivel chairs, each with a headset and headphones.

A pod is one seat, for one visitor at a time.

  1. VR headset

    With a comfortable head strap.

  2. Headphones

    Over-ear, with noise cancellation.

  3. Swivel chair

Turns a full 360°, with back support.

  4. Room plan

    Drawn by the operations team.

Running the room.

  • Trained operators install and pack down the room.
  • Every viewer is onboarded, with special guidance for first-timers.
  • Operators follow a hygiene protocol on all equipment after every use.
  • An on-site hub monitors every pod centrally.

Sessions stay on time because one in-house system, Poetics Pods (opens in a new tab), holds the schedule: timeslots, real-time updates and access for every member of the team.

Why the room matters

Three things shape a screening: the mind the visitor arrives with, the content chosen for them, and the room around the headset. We pick titles for the place and the people, brief first-timers, and set up the room so nothing competes with the film.

Everything flows with the right set of mind, and the right setting around it.

Three formats.

  • Visitors queue at a row of stations while an operator fits a headset on one of them.

    Live activations

Festivals, brand tours and gallery events.

Suits a program with a crowd and a fixed window.

  • Four visitors in headsets on pods facing a projected film in a gallery, the Poetics name on the floor.

    Plug-and-play pods

    Delivered, cabled and preloaded.

Suits a museum or venue that wants a corner running for weeks.

  • The Roadshow tent on a town square in Lamia, with banners and visitors at the stations.

    On the road

A touring setup. One Greek tour covered 16 cities and islands.

Suits a brand or institution with a national audience.

How programs are chosen.

  • Arts

Feel and connect with the artist.

  • Education

    Experience creates knowledge.

  • Entertainment

Performance and sport without limits of space or time.

A person reviews hundreds of titles and picks a handful that match the place and the people. Never a catalogue.

Titles come from collaborating distributors. As of September 2026, we have featured 19 titles.
